Dr. Julie Lockwood is a Distinguished Professor at Rutgers University and Director of the Rutgers Climate and Energy Institute. An internationally recognized ecologist, her work focuses on biodiversity, species invasions, and innovative environmental monitoring approaches, including environmental DNA (eDNA). Dr. Lockwood has published xtensively on how human activity shapes ecosystems and has been a leading voice in advancing science-based strategies for conservation and climate resilience. Through her research, teaching, and leadership, she is committed to bridging science and policy to address some of today’s most pressing environmental challenges.
